Preparations on for Kullu Dussehra from October 21-27
Shimla, Aug 13 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said all efforts would be made to complete the construction of ''Dev Sadan'' before the commencement of Kullu Dussehra being organised from October 21-27.
He was reviewing the arrangements of the popular International Kullu Dussehra organised by the state-level Kullu Dussehra Committee meeting here today.
The Chief Minister said that in the state known as Land of Gods, temples were one of the major sources of religious tourism attracting a number of tourists.
Amenities had been created in the prominent religious shrines all over the State to facilitate the devotees, he added.
He said that Government had formulated a plan to restore all the historical and archeologically important temples and added that in order to uphold the religious sentiments of the people, all such temples would be restored to their original form in a phased manner.
He directed the officers to make elaborate arrangements to facilitate the visitors and to maintain law and order situation during the festival.
Mr Raj Krishan Gaur, Agriculture Minister said that Kullu Dussehra had acquired international importance from tourism point of view and attracted tourists from world wide as it showcased the rich culture of the valley . He said that efforts would be made to procure cultural troupe from all the States as well as from other countries to entertain the visitors.
Mr Abhishek Jain, Deputy Commissioner, Kullu said that befitting arrangements would be made for proper organising of the International Kullu Dussehra and apprised the Chief Minister of the preparations being made for the same.
