Open slaughter houses closed, Govt informs HC

Ranchi, Aug 13 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today declared that open slaughter houses would be closed in Jamshedpur.

The decision came as a response to a High Court show cause order issued to the government in this regard.

The High Court had served a show cause notice to the state government stating that open slaughter houses were functioning by defying court order, leading to enviornment pollution.

The petitioner contended that the meat shop area in the town was being polluted and becoming unhygienic due to animal slaughter taking p;ace in the poen.

The deputy commissioner of Jamshedpur today filed an affidavit before the court and stated that all the slaughter houses had been closed.
