Lucknow, Aug 13 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh police today claimed that prima facie it has not found any involvement of Akhilesh Singh Yadav, a Samajwadi Party MP from Kannauj and son of former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, in ''ordering'' rape of Dalit women members of a political opponent's family.

State Director General of Police (DGP) Vikram Singh said here last month one Ramanand Shankwar had sent a complaint letter to SP, Kannauj alleging that during the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, while he was beaten up, his mother and sisters were raped by some goons in the presence of Akhilesh Singh Yadav.

Shankwar alleged that when he approached the police to lodge a FIR, his plea was turned down as he was a Dalit. He requested the Kannauj SP to get the matter investigated by the CBI.

When ASP, Kannauj Shafiq Ahmed investigated the complaint, it was found that Shankwar's brothers Dashrat, Narendra, Nakshatrashah and Neeraj Mishra had murdered one Hariram on May 5, 2004. In retaliation, the 'opposite party' had hacked Neeraj Mishra to death and his torso was recovered on May 7, 2004.

''The matter was later handed over to the CB-CID for investigation and both the cases were now pending in the courts,'' the DGP said adding investigations had releaved that the MP was not prima facie involved in the alleged rapes.

Yesterday, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had charged the Mayawati government of indulging in politics of vendetta by framing his son in a fake case.
