Jaiswal to visit Assam tomorrow to review internal security
New Delhi, Aug 13 (UNI) Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal will visit Assam for a day tomorrow to review the internal security situation in the state where 29 Hindi speaking migrant workers have been killed by militants during the last week.
The Minister would will visit Upper Dehari village and Rongbong Ghat in Karbi Anglong district. He will also meet Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gagoi.
Tension prevails in the district following the killing of 29 Hindi-speaking people by ULFA and KLNLF militants in joint attacks during the last weekend.
The Centre has condemned the attacks and assured all possible help to the affected people. It has also assured assistance to the state government in containing militant violence.
