Hooda asks people to celebrate Teej with fervour
Panchkula, Aug 13 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today appealed to the people, especially the women, to celebrate the traditional Teej festival with great fervour and gaiety as it would strengthen the bonds of love and amity in the society.
These views were expressed by the Chief Minister while addressing a gathering on the occasion of Teej celebrations organised by the Kalka Welfare Society at Kalka.
Mr Hooda said the festivals were integral part of our culture and tradition and the Teej festival was a special occasion for the women folk.
The Chief Minister maintained that the Teej festival was being celebrated by the families, villagers and the society jointly as it showed the regard toward the women.
Besides helping in strengthening the cultural heritage of the state, the Teej festival gave us a message to preserve the environment. He urged the people to take a solemn pledge to plant trees as it would lead to increased greenery.
