HC asks West Tripura DSJ to take action against judge
Agartala, Aug 13 (UNI) The Agartala Bench of Gauhati High Court today asked the West Tripura District and Sessions Judge (DSJ) to conduct an inquiry against Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Sujit Kumar Bardhan for his alleged contempt of court.
According to an order, one Bhanu Chandra Das, an accused under IPC Section 407 and 120 (B), was given anticipatory bail from the High Court on July 20 and directed to endorse it from the ACJM's court before July 24.
However, the ACJM allegedly refused to accept the High Court order and instead sent the accsued to jail.
Mr Das' counsel Bahul Nandi Majumder took the matter to the notice of the apex court and after hearing the case, Justice Utpalendu Bikash Saha asked the DSJ to investigate the matter and initiate action against the ACJM.
