Pathanamthitta, Aug 13 (UNI) Gothra Maha Sabha(GMS) Chairperson C K Janu today urged Kerala Chief Minister V S Achudhanandan to take initiatives for providing Title Deeds to the Tribals and Dalits, who have established rights by occupying the Kumbazha Estate of Harrison Malayalam Plantation Limited.

Talking to newspersons here, Ms Janu decried the Government's stand towards the on-going 'Land Struggle'. There was enough land available in the state for distribution to the landless, she added.

She said the land that was in the possession of Harrision Malayalam Plantation should be recovered, as the lease period of it had expired long ago.

She demanded the takeover of the land by Harrison and distribution of the same to the landless tribals and Dalits immediately.

She urged the State Government to prepare a package aimed at providing land to the landless Dalits on the model of the package, given shape to by the previous United Democratic Front(UDF) Government, specifying provision of one to five acre of land to adivasi families.

Ms Janu revealed that an action plan would be formulated in a meeting to be held at Kannur on August-16 for intensifing the land struggle of the dispossessed.
