Tirupati, Aug 13 (UNI) Krishna Reddy, who has struggled for the cause of the nation, is now fighting for a plot sanctioned to him by the government in 1993.

Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Reddy, who was jailed during the freedom movement said the government after identifying him as a freedom fighter, sanctioned land for house construction at Autonagar in Renigunta near here in 1993.

After this he had made several representations to the revenue authorities for the allotment of the sanctioned plot but it turned out be a cry in the wilderness, he alleged.

The 90-year-old had submitted a memorandum to the governor requesting him to intervene in the issue.

After several appeals, the Mandal Revenue Officer gave the plot number. But the joy was short lived as the land was occupied by private people. He alleged that police had not taken any action over his complaints.

Mr Reddy hailing from Brahmanapalli village in Peddapanjani mandal in Chittoor district hoped to get it resolved on the Independence Day and cautioned to observe an indefinite hunger strike in front of the Mandal Revenue Office in case of failure.
