Five Bangladeshi held in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Aug 13 (UNI) The Ahmedabad Crime Branch today arrested five illegal Bangladeshi immigrants here.

The Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Mohammed Nazrul alais Murad Sheikh (22), Mohammed Alam Sahadat Sheikh (21), Jahid Shera Ali Sheikh (40), Isha Jaynal Sheikh (21) and Mohammed Rabi alias Mohammed Abul Sheikh (21).

''Mohammed Nazrul was arrested from Isanpur area of the city.

Nazrul had crossed over to India from Benapul border of Bangladesh by paying Rs 2,000 to agent named Luthfar Mulla,'' a senior crime branch official told reporters.

''Nazrul was involved in petty theft and confessed to having stolen four cell phones by breaking into houses in Isanpur,'' he said.

''Mohammed Alam Sahadat Sheikh was arrested from Chandola area of the city. He had crossed over to India from Kolarava border of Bangladesh by paying Rs 2,000 to agent named Rafikul. His mother was recently found living illegally in Maninagar and deported back to Bangladesh.

''Jahid Shera Ali Sheikh was arrested from Shah-e-Alam area of the city. He had crossed over to India from Benapul border of Bangladesh by paying Rs 1,500 to agent named Toko.

''Isha Jaynal Sheikh was arrested from Siyasatnagar of Chandola area in the city. He had crossed over to India in his childhood with his parents from Nodail district of Bangladesh. In 2004, his mother died and father went back to Bangladesh with his second wife, while he chose to live here,'' said the official.

''Mohammed Rabi, the fifth Bangladeshi, was also arrested from Siyasatnagar of Chandola area. He had crossed over to India from Benapul border by paying Rs 2,000 to agent named Rashid Sikdar,'' he added.
