Elaborate security for Independence Day parade in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Aug 13 (UNI) Close circuit televisions will be installed for the first time as a part of security arrangement at Mahatma Gandhi road, the venue for the state level celebration of the Independence day .

Director General of Police Amarananda Patnaik today said the security arrangement for the Independence day this year had been upgraded in the state capital as well as in other places including the naxal dominated districts of the state to thwart any untoward incident.

In view of the rising naxal activities in various parts of the state a high alert has been sounded all over the state and like last year this year too arrangement has been made to deploy the quick reaction team, anti-bomb squad, anti-self immolation squad,anti- terrorist squad and Special Operation Group for the smooth celebration of the occasion.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will take the salute at the independence day parade here .
