Mumbai, Aug 13 (UNI) City Civil and Sessions court Principal Judge Ashok Bhangale today granted interim relief till tomorrow to three doctors at Nanavati Hospital who have moved for anticipatory bail fearing arrest in a negligence case.

The prosecution sought time to file its say on the petition. Judge Bhangale granted time and directed police not to arrest the applicants till tomorrow.

A case of negligence was filed against Dr Priti Gavalankar, Dr Sharad Seth and Dr Rajendra Jogelkar on Saturday with the Santacruz police.

A pregnant woman, Pritima More, was admitted to the Nanavati Hospital on November 12, 1999 and she died on the same day. Her husband had lodged a complaint, holding the doctors responsible for his wife's death.

Inquiry by an independent committee from the government-run J J Hospital was instituted which has submitted its findings. Following this, a case was formally registered Saturday last.

The doctors have contended that they had extended all medical support to the patient.
