Corporation Bank Officers stage demo

Mangalore, Aug 13: Officers of the Corporation Bank today staged a demonstration in front of the Bank headquarters here to protest against the management for violating bilateral agreement.

Members of Corporation Bank Officers' Organisation (CBOO), who assembled to take part in the two-day 17th Triennial All India Conference and General Body meeting of the CBOO, raised slogans against the management.

Addressing the members here, CBOO President T R Bhat alleged that the management had violated transfer policy mutually agreed upon at the time of signing the agreement 18 years back and amended several times as desired by the management.

Charging the management with issuing transfer orders in gross violation of transfer rules, Mr Bhat said in respect of promotion policy, the management had violated the clause regarding wait-list for promotion from scale II to III.

While the management had no respect for a settled policy, it also did not follow the government guidelines in respect of the mandatory rural and semi-urban service condtions.

The members, demonstrating outside the bank gate were initially not allowed to enter the building. However, later they were allowed inside the premises.
