CGH founder, wife die hours apart

Kochi, Aug 13 (UNI) Dominic Joseph Kuruvinakunnal (86), founder Chairman of CGH Earth, formerly the Casino Group of Hotels, died after a brief illness here this morning.

Hours apart, his wife Thankamma (80), who was ailing for for some time now, passed away, according to an official release.

While Dominic died at 0825 hrs, his wife passed away at 1730 hrs.

They were survived by nine children.

The funeral service would be held here tomorrow.

The Group was started in 1957 as the Casino Restaurant, catering the dock workers and commuters of Willingdon Island and evolved into the familiar Casino Hotel. Today, the Group is called CGH Earth and covers diverse destinations in Kerala and Lakshadweep Islands.

UNI
