Bangalore, Aug 13: Congress today reiterated that Bharatiya Janata Party will not get the post of the Chief Minister in October and transfer of power will not take place in Karnataka.

Speaking to reporters here, All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary M M Jacob, who is also incharge of Karnataka, said that "no. I don't see any indications on the horizon that BJP will get the coveted post in the coming months." Mr Jacob said he was in the city to hold consultations with the party leaders in the wake of the Urban Local Body elections which is slated to beheld before September 30.

"Congress is confident of bouncing back to power in Karnataka. The party is in good shape. We will ensure that we win the coming Urban Local Body elections which is important to bounce back to power in the state," he added.

However to win the elections, unity in the party rank and file will be important and party leadres should ensure that, he added.

He said the long pending appointment of Pradesh Congress Committee office bearers would be done 'very soon'.
