Bitta offers protection to Sacha Sauda case witnessses

Fatehabad, Aug 13 (UNI) President of the All India Anti-Terrorist Front M S Bitta today offered his full support and protection to the ''victims'' of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh and witneses in the related case.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said that in case, any of the witness in the case approached him for legal, moral or any other support, he and his organisation would happily extend the same.

Mr Bitta said that it was ''deplorable'' that the CBI witnesses against the Dera chief were being ''threatened and pressurised'' to make them rescind from their statements given before legal officials.

He alleged that the Dera's official had even gone to the extent of threatening journalists.

Mr Bitta also visited the office of local evening daily 'Haryana Ki Goonj', whose editor Madan Bansal had received threats to his life after he published an anonymous letter against the Dera Sacha Sauda chief in his paper last week. The local police has also provided security guards to Mr Bansal.

Mr Bitta expressed solidarity with Mr Bansal saying , ''my Front would always stand with those who stood with truth''.
