Bar Council calls for strike tomorrow

Kolkata, Aug 13 (UNI) The West Bengal Bar Council has called a strike tomorrow in protest against the alleged police lathicharge on the lawyers at Diamond Harbour in South 24 Parganas.

National Lawyers Council and All India Minority Forum (AIMF) expressed their solidarity with the strike and condemned the police action, AIMF president Idris Ali said here today.

He alleged that following in the footsteps of some doctors, several persons with fake lawyer's degree were doing a thriving practice in the state.

He appealed to the Bar Council to stop such malpractrices immediately and take stern action against those erring persons.
