A poacher shot dead in exchange of fire with forest officials

Mysore, Aug 13 (UNI) One poacher was shot dead and a forest guard was injured in exchanage of fire at Gundre-Beguru forest area last night.

According to forest officials a gang of 10 poachers from nearby Sultan Bateri on Kerala border started firing on seeing the forest guards forcing them to retaliate.

Forest guard Nagaraju who was seriously injured was admitted to H D Kote Hospital.

The body of poacher killed was yet to be recovered.
