3 girls of a suicide pact die in Karnataka
Bangalore, Aug 13: Three among the four-teenaged girls who attempted suicide, died in a government hospital here today while one of them is recovering in a private hospital.
According to police, a marriage engagement was said to be the reason behind the ''suicide pact'' which forced them to consume pesticide laced with unidentified tablets on Friday.
The girls in the age group of 14-15 years were studying at a school in K P Agrahara here.
The family members of one of the girls had performed her engagement ceremony recently which was suspected to have led the teenagers to take the extreme step. However, their family members refused to disclose the details.
In the suicide note, they said nobody was responsible for their death. ''Our teachers, parents or anybody else is not responsible for our action. Please do not show our bodies to the media. We request you to donate our eyes,''.
The girls threw themselves off the railway quarters near their school after consuming ten unidentified tablets apart from the poison. Some passersby had rushed them to the hospital.
