Paswan to meet all CMs on Dalit quota issue
Chennai, Aug 12 (UNI) Union Minister of Steel, Chemicals and Fertilisers Ram Vilas Paswan today said he would meet all the Chief Ministers to seek their support for separate reservations to Dalit Christians and Muslims.
Talking to newspersons here, he said he had already met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on the issue.
''Mr Karunanidhi had given a positive response to reservation for Dalit Christians and Muslims,'' he added.
On the Supreme Court's stay on Centre's proposed OBC quota, he expressed hope that the Constitutional Bench of the Apex Court would rule justly in favour of the quota to help the weaker sections of the society.
His party was seeking reservation in the private sector also, he added.
He demanded in toto implementation of the Sachar Committee recommendations and also put forth a demand for reservation in Judiciary.
Mr Paswan called for an Indian Judicial Service on the lines of IAS and IPS, as mentioned in the 'Article 312 of the Constitution'.
