CFLs installed in 30 villages in Haryana

Chandigarh, Aug 12 (UNI) While continuing its campaign to to replace the traditional incandescent bulbs with Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL), the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) today completed task in six more villages in Narnaul Operational Circle.

DHBVN has now covered 30 villages in this circle comprising districts of Mahendragarh and Rewri.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Nigam said that these six villages included Ateli Mandi, Dahni Harsukh, Karia, Mohguru Nanakpura, Rampura and Pahladpur Bhima.

He said that with the replacement of traditional yellow bulbs, the load on the distribution system reduced by 375 ampere. The total load on the transformers, before the campaign was 3158 ampere during peak load hours in the evening.

After the completion of the campaign, the consumers turned to CFLs and the load reduced to 2783 ampere thus giving a big relief to the distribution system of DHBVN. Now, the villagers will not face the problem of low voltage, trippings and break downs, he added.

He said that over 2600 consumers in these six villages purchased about 6,000 CFLs from the stalls set up in various camps organised in the villages by DHBVN. The villagers returned 46 old bulbs to the DHBVN officials.

He said that the villages were getting power supply through 18 transformers including nine of 200 KVA, six of 100 KVA, three of 63 KVA capacity.
