Manipur: ZSUs to picket government offices

Imphal, Aug 11: The Zeliangrong Students' Unions (ZSU) of Manipur and of Tamenglong District have threatened to start picketing government offices, if its demands were not met.

The two organisations had started launching stir from August 3 in the entire Tamenglong District, as the government of Manipur failed to implement the assurances made to improve the infrastructure in the district.

The two organisations were demanding early completion of Tamenglong-Tousem-Haflong Road, New Kaiphundai-Tousem Road, Tamenglong-Tamei Road, Tamei-Tening Road and bridge, Loktak Down Stream Hydro Electric Project.

The renewed course of agitation would include picketing of government offices other than health services, educational institutions, it was stated.
