UHBVN to ensure minimum breakdowns during paddy season

Chandigarh, Aug 11 (UNI) The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitan Nigam has directed its Superintending Engineers (Operation) to ensure that there were minimum breakdowns and interruptions in power supply in view of the ongoing paddy season.

They had been directed to report to the management the breakdowns and interruptions where the power could not be supplied for five hours or more duration with details and their comments, a spokesman for the Nigam said here today.

They would also inform the consumers of the areas concerned about the reasons of non-supply of electricity through print and electronic media.

He said it had been observed that one of the major reasons of the breakdowns in rural areas has been unauthorised extension of load by the consumers.

He said the consumers had extended their load without disclosure to the Nigam which led to damage of transformers and interruptions.
