Three carcasses of wild animals recovered in Junagadh
Junagadh, Aug 11 (UNI) The forest authorities have recovered the carcasses of three wild animals from the Gir forest area here.
In an incident, a panther was found dead last night in an abandoned government quarter in the Una taluka of the district bordering Gir forest near the Singhoda dam area.
The 8-year-old panther, who had taken shelter in the quarter, drowned after the rise in the water level.
In another incident, a 2-year-old panther cub was found dead yesterday at the Sankhada village in Gir on the outskirts of Una taluka.
Meanwhile, the carcass of a striped hyena which had also drowned during the rains, was recovered yesterday near the Singhoda dam area.
