Jammu, Aug 11 (UNI) Instructing security forces to remain vigilant about activities of non-residents in the city, Jammu and Kashmir Inspector General of Police S P Vaid today asked all house owners to give proper and timely information on their tenants.

Talking to mediapersons at Police Control Room complex after killing of a dreaded Pakistani militant and operational chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) Saifullah Qarri, Dr Vaid said the militants were living in the house of Beghum Maqsuda for over a month but local police was not aware as Maqsuda's husband is a businessman in Saudi Arab.

''It is very unfortunate and surprising that a group of militants, including one of the most wanted terrorist were living in the heart of the city and we were not aware about their activities'', he said.

The police was informed by the intelligence agencies yesterday that three Pakistani militants, including Qarri, had taken shelter in a house at Ramzan Pura mohalla under jurisdiction of Janipur police station, the IG said.

The police administration has issued directives to all station house officers (SHOs) to collect and keep complete information about non-residents people or families who were living on rent at different places in the city, he said.

''The security personnel in Jammu region were also asked to remain vigilant'', Dr Vaid said.
