HM militant killed, war like stores recovered in JK
Srinagar, Aug 11 (UNI) A Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant was killed and warlike stores were recovered in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, an official spokesman said.
He said security forces and state police in a joint operation unearthed a hideout at Mastan Dhara, Bufliaz in Poonch district.
The arms and ammunition recovered included eight AK rifles with 18 magazines and 254 rounds and 2 Pistols with 5 magazines and 22 rounds.
In a joint operation of the Army and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police at village Rajpora, Zachaldara, in the frontier district of Kupwara this morning, a HM militant Mushtaq Ahmed was killed. Two AK rifles and 5 magazines were recovered from the encounter site.
He said CRPF and police averted a major tragedy when they detected and defused a powerful IED planted by militants near Auqaf building at Badyari Chowk.
Police recovered a wireless set, a detonator and 2 RCDs during a search operation from Palnar Sogam jungles.
