Foundation stone laid for Adyar Eco Park
Chennai, Aug 11 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi laid the foundation stone for the Rs 100 crore ''Adyar Eco Park'', which would be the state's first globally benchmarked ecotourism venture in the city.
After laying the foundation stone for the Park yesterday, coming up at Adyar creek, off Greenways road in South Chennai, the Chief Minister released the draft plan of the project.
Chennai Mayor Ma Subramanian received the draft plan, which would be open to public discussion for a month. Apart from this, the plan would be posted on a dedicated website.
The inputs received from the public would be incorporated in the master plan that would be finalised after extensive discussions with all stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Karunanidhi said he always wished Tamil Nadu should have such beautiful parks and the Eco park would be a dream come true for him.
In a lighter vain, referring to the protests for the Titanium dioxide project, the Chief Minister, said ''luckily there is no opposition for this project.'' He said people should always extend their full cooperation for projects, implemented for their welfare.
