Fire in Army's arms and ammunition depot in south Kashmir
Srinagar, Aug 11 (UNI) A fire broke out in the Army's arms and ammunition depot in south Kashmir district of Anantnag this morning, a defence ministry spokesman said.
He ruled out any sabotage or militant hand in the fire.
He said the fire broke out in a building in the army camp in which arms and ammunition were kept.
A portion of the room where the arms were stored was gutted in the fire, he said adding that the it was brought under control.
He said it was an accidental fire. and there no loss of life.
About ten senior army officers have been killed in similar accidental fires in buildings in which arms and ammunition, recovered during the counter insurgency operations, were kept in the nineties.
