Families punished for denying polio vaccination

Jaunpur, Aug 11 (UNI) In a drive against Polio, electricity was disconnected and ration cards of two families cancelled, as a punishment, for denial in getting their children vaccinated against the disease here.

The incident came to light in Shahganj tehsil area yesterday, where Haneef of Manecha village and Ayub of Sabarhad village denied to give polio drops to their children.

Taking stern action, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Raghubir Yadav Sondhi ordered disconnection of the power supply at the duo's residence. Their ration cards were also cancelled.
