Sambalpur, Aug 11 (UNI) The decomposed body of a villager was recovered during a combing operation in the Gariakhaman Katasahi forest, seven km away from Talab where he was abducted by armed Maoists.

The Maoists on Thursday kidnapped three villagers suspecting them as police informers but two of them had managed to escape from their clutches, while the whereabouts of one Arjun Dehuri remained untraced.

Police suspected that Maoists had apparently killed Dehury on the very day they kidnapped him as the body was fully decomposed. The body was sent for post-mortem to Rairakhol hospital this evening.

However, tension gripped the area after the post-mortem as the villagers protesting police inaction to curb Maoist activities resorted to road blockade.

They also blocked the NH 42 at Rairakhol and demanded Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the family of the deceased.

The villagers alleged that the CRPF did not respond to their request after the Maoists kidnapped Dehury.
