Dadwal sympathetic towards Delhi's tribal working women' problems

New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) New Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal today assured sympathetic consideration of the demand for a single window approach to the problems of thousands of tribal girls working in Delhi, who are often victims of rape, sexual molestation, physical abuse and financial exploitation.

The assurance was given to a delagation of Congress leaders who called on Mr Dadwal at the police headquarters yesterday afternoon, regional secretary of the All India Christian Council, Madhu Chandra said.

The delegation, consisting of former Congress MP from Nagaland, K Asungba Sangtam, member of the National Integration Council, John Dayal and secretary of the Baptist Union of North India, Franklin J Qureshi, presented the newly-appointed Commissioner a memorandum listing issues of intrusions into graveyards, land mafia pressure on church properties, violence towards and against pastors in different parts of the Capital and the situation of tribal women both from central India and northeast.

Mr Dadwal assured the delegation that having served in Arunachal Pradesh, he was sensitive to the isuues of the northeast. The Commissioner also assured that there would be no compromise on the Constitutional rights of the minorities.
