BJP to launch door-to-door campaign to highlight Modi's achievements

Vadodara, Aug 11 (UNI) The BJP, with an eye on the assembly elections later this year, has decided to launch a door-to-door campaign to acquaint people in the state about the ''achievements of the Narendra Modi government''.

Addressing reporters here today, BJP general secretary Vijay Rupani said in preparation for the ensuing state assembly elections, the party has decided to meet the people of the state through a door-to-door campaign to make them aware of the development Gujarat had achieved during the last five years of Narendra Modi rule.

Mr Rupani said, ''We have decided a target one crore people through the door-to-door campaign this month itself, in which we will give them the details of the progress that the state has made under the leadership of Mr Modi in various fronts.'' Urging the party workers to stress on the development that BJP government had achieved during its five-year rule by taking the state to number one position in overall development amongst other Indian states in the campaign, he called upon the party workers to build a bridge between the party and the people of Gujarat to defeat the Congress in the ensuing assembly election.

To a question on the recent suspension of five BJP MLAs from the party, Mr Rupani said if the suspended MLAs accept their misdeeds and extend apology to the party, then party will definitely consider their case sympathetically and may revoke their suspension.

Last month, BJP president Rajnath Singh had suspended Gordhan Zadaphia, Balu Tanti, Bechar Bhadani, Bavku Unghad and Dhiru Gajera for breach of discipline and anti-party activities.
