8 killed in separate incidents in Jharkhand

Giridih/Bokaro, Aug 11 (UNI) At least eight people were killed in separate incidents in Jharkhand in the past 24 hours.

Four persons were killed on the spot after they came in contact with a live wire in a market under Gandey police station in Giridih district last night, police said.

An investigation was on, police added.

In Bokaro, four persons, including a woman, were killed when they were struck by lightning in two areas in the district. Police said one person suffered burns.

Police said lightning struck three persons, including the woman, who were working in a field in Kander village under Gomia police station area killing them on the spot.

In Pukhritola under Petarwar police station area one person died and another was injured by lightning. The injured was admitted to a local hospital, police added.
