UP's 'Khushi' prepares for tiring road journey to Mysore
Lucknow, Aug 10 (UNI) UP's Khushi is learning Kannad these days as on Sunday she is to leave for a long, tiring road journey to Mysore, her new home.
Khushi is a baby female giraffe who is being sent to the Mysore zoological garden on August 12. A group of zoo keepers from Mysore zoo are here to teach her commands in Kannad. ''Besides teaching her commands in Kannad, we are also befriending her as during the long road journey she would require a lot of care,'' said Mysore zoo head keeper C R Raje Gowda.
The zoo keepers from Mysore are also teaching her to spend several hours in a special cage prepared for the journey. ''Last two days she is not eating...perhaps she has realised it was time to leave the Lucknow zoological garden,'' said a vetenary staff here.
Besides Khushi, a zebra and two cranes are also being sent to Mysore as part of the exchange programme.
In turn the city zoo would get a couple of chimpanzees as part of the exchange.
