Police to act on MIM MLAs for 'threat to Taslima'
Hyderabad, Aug 10 (UNI) City Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh today said the police would take action against Majlis -e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLAs who allegedly threatened to kill Bangladesh writer Taslima Nasreen if she dared to come back to the city.
Addressing the press here, Mr Singh said ''we are looking into the statements made by the MIM MLAs after they attacked Ms Nasreen while she was participating in a book release function of a Telugu translation of her Bengali book 'Shod' at the Press Club yesterday.
''The police are investigating into the matter.Action will be taken against the MIM MLAs at the earliest. A thorough investigation into the incident is going on.'' To a query, the police official said they booked cases against three MIM MLAs -- Afsar Khan, Ahmed Pasha Quadri and Moazam Khan -- based on a complaint filed by the organisers.
