Motor Market organises Dangue Awareness Camp

Chandigarh, Aug 10 (UNI) The Manimajra Motor Traders Association in collaboration with the Directorate of Nationl Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, Health Department, UT organised a Dangue Awareness Camp in the Motor Market here today.

A flag march cum procession with placards was organised by the Department in which all the traders, mechanics of the Motor Market Association and the officials of Directorate of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, UT participated.

While inaugurating the camp, Manimajra Traders Association President Mr Prem Nath appealed the members of traders association to extend necessary cooperation and join hands with the officers of Directorate of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme for reducing the mosquito genic potential in the entire motor market area.

Dr Rajinder K Sharma, Assistant Director Health (Malaria) thanked the Motor Market Traders Association for its support in checking tyres, coolers and other discarded containers lying haphazardly on the roof tops of the shops in the market, which are the potential source of Aedes mosquito breeding responsible for spread of Dangue and Chikungunya.
