Modi lays foundation stone of power station at Utran
Utran, Gujarat, Aug 10 (UNI) Chief Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of a proposed 370 MW capcity power station at Utran in south Gujarat.
''Gujarat has taken quick and long strides in power sector. The coastal area of Gujarat have been a constant source of power generation. We aim to generate 15,000 MW electricity through various power stations at the sea coast,'' said Mr Modi addressing a gathering at Utran, some 30 km from Surat.
''The power station with 370 MW capacity will be readied in two years at the cost of Rs 1,215 crore,'' he said.
Those present at the function included Surat BJP general secretary Narottam Patel, Surat Mayor Dr Kanubhai Mawani, legislators Dhansukh Patel, Bhavana Chapatwala, Ishwar Patel and Manish Gilitwala.
