Law and order situation worse in MP: Prahlad Patel
Bhopal, Aug 10 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) General Secretary Prahlad Patel today alleged that the law and order situation was deteriorating in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh.
Mr Patel told reporters here today that recent incidents in the state capital, including assault on policemen, murder of a journalist and loot of Rs 12 lakh from a bank employee in broad daylight, indicated the situation of law and order in the state.
He claimed that he informed the government about three information centres of naxals in the state. However, his security system was scaled down in response. Later, a naxalite-run weapons factory was unearthed in Bhopal.
Mr Patel said not being able to trace Chhattisgarh Government's helicopter 'Maina' even three days after it disappeared reflected failure on the part of the state police and government.
The BJS leader alleged that corruption was rampant in the state with bureaucrats being involved in it. However, they were being given protection.
He said the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) considered Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (MPSIDC) officials as guilty in the loan scam but the government was providing them protection.
He said he has written several times to the government regarding alleged corruption and irregularities. However, concerned officials did not deem it necessary to give a reply.
Mr Patel said he would not hesitate to go to public or move to the court against corruption.
