New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) General Motors India (GMI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of US-based General Motors Corporation, today said it aims to double its sales in the country by next fiscal.

''The company targets to sell 60,000-70,000 units by next fiscal,'' company's President and Managing Director Rajeev Chaba said on the sidelines of the launch of its 'New Chevrolet Aveo' here.

The company had sold 35,000 units in the last fiscal, he added.

Mr Chaba also said, ''The company plans to roll out its premium SUV Captiva (Diesel) in the first quarter of the next year.'' On the occasion of its first annivesary, GMI unveiled its 'New Chevrolet Aveo' at a price range between Rs 5,85,000 to Rs 6,75,000.

''It is a newer version of the already lauched 'Chevrolet Aveo', which has sold two lakh units per year, at an average, globally,'' said Mr Chaba.

The New Aveo has features like chrome-lining on air-conditioning vents and cluster, an improved gear shift for easier drivability, enhanced throttle response for better acceleration, said Mr Chaba.

As a confidence-building measure, he said, the company has introduced 'Chevrolet Promise' for its new customers who can claim a refund of the extra amount that they pay, if the maintenance cost for over a period of three year or 45,000 km (whichever is earlier) exceeds a fixed amount.

''This concept has been introduced for the first time in the country and we will come out with many such packages in the near future,'' said Mr Chaba.

The total maintenance cost of Chevrolet Spark stands at Rs 12,999, Aveo (U-VA) Rs 14,999, Aveo at Rs 15,999, Optra Magnum (petrol)/SRV Rs 17,999 and Optra Magnum (diesel) at Rs 26,999.
