Four school kids injured in detonator blast

Nashik, Aug 10 (UNI) Four school kids were injured in a detonator blast at Teesgaon in Dindori taluka of this district today.

According to sources, four kids, identified as Roshan Parshuram Bagul, Rishikesh Shivaji Gangurde, Anil Sanjay Bhalerao and Vishal Yashwant Bhalerao, all class IV students of Nashik Zilla Parishad Teesgaon Primary School were injured in the blast.

The incident occurred earlier in the day when another student Rohit Mahale, of the same school, who had found a detonator two days back, brought it to the school and showed it to his fellow classmates. The students connected the detonator to a battery cell and a wire which led to the blast.

Roshan and Rishikesh sustained serious injuries in the blast and have been admitted to a private hospital in Nashik. The other two are undergoing treatment in a private clinic at Khedgaon, a nearby village.

Sources said, the student may have found the detonator lying near a detonator powder godown at Teesgaon owned by one Ramray Phulchand Soni.

As soon as the news of the mishap spread, the workers at the detonator powder godown fled from the godown, sources added.

The Vani police is investigating the matter.
