Four killed, 50 injured in road mishap in Punjab

Fatehgarh Sahib, Aug 10 (UNI) Four persons were killed while around 50 were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and canter near Nogawan village in the district today, police here said.

According to police sources, the canter with pilgrims on board was on its way from Nabha to Naina Devi to organise 'langar' (community kitchen). The front tyre of the canter burst near Nogawan and it collided with a bus, which was coming from Morinda.

The canter owner Kashmir Chand of Nabha, who was himself driving the vehicle died on the spot while Hansa, also a resident of Nabha succumbed to his injuries at PGIMR, Chandigarh.

Two other persons Rocky and Ricka Ram also of Nabha were also killed in the mishap .

The injured, which included a number of bus passengers were admitted to hospitals in Fatehgarh Sahib, Bassi Pathana and Morinda.

However 11 of the seriously injured were sent to PGIMR, Chandigarh.
