BCC delegation to visit Vietnam for business promotion
Kolkata, Aug 10 (UNI) A 21-member delegation of Bharat Chamber of Commerce (BCC) would visit Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam from August 12 to 18 to explore the scope of establishing sustainable business relationship with leaders of industries and trade of that country.
''Our main vision is to establish a two-way partnership between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Bharat Chamber of Commerce to foster and channelise business interests of West Bengal and Vietnam,'' BCC President P R Agarwala told reporters here today.
He said for a decade the BCC was making initiatives through discussions with the Ambassadors of Vietnam in India to help expand trade between Vietnam and West Bengal.
Mr Agarwala emphasised that through high and continuous GDP growth during the last couple of years, Vietnam has become one of the fastest growing economies in Asia and has become the 150th member of WTO this year. Internationally, the country has been recognised as one of the safest places for business and commerce.
He also said that Vietnam is now one of the world's top exporters of rice and pepper, the second biggest exporter of coffee, third largest exporter of cashews and one of the leading exporters of apparel and footwear. Following these achievements, the Vietnamese government has removed many restrictions and goods are now freely imported and exported there, he added.
The business delegation team includes BCC President P R Agarwala and Chairman of Global trade standing committee Ashok Aikat.
The other members are Santosh Rungta of Rungta group, Hari Prasad Budhia, Sajjan Bhajanka and others.
