AIADMK seeks vigilance enquiry into corruption in Yanam region

Puducherry, Aug 10 (UNI) The AIADMK today urged Lt Governor Mukut Mithi to order a vigilance enquiry into the alleged corruptions and politically motivated activities in Yanam region here.

AIADMK Yanam convenor M S Sai Kumar along with state secretary A Anbazhagan MLA and a party delegation today called on the Lt Governor and submitted a memorandum in this regard.

Later, addressing the press, Mr Sai Kumar and Mr Anbazhagan alleged that there were widespread corruption in Yanam Public Works Department (PWD) and many irregularities in the issue of new ration cards and in various departments.

They said they were ready to prove the allegations if an enquiry was ordered.

They pointed out that illicit liquor business was thriving in the region.
