Accused of 'loot and murder' at CAT judge's residence sent to jail

Patna, Aug 10 (UNI) The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Patna today remanded Anil Singh alias Sunny, the main accused in a case of loot and murder committed in the house of Ms Sadhna Srivastav, a judicial member of Central Administrative Tribunal(CAT) Patna, to judicial custody till August 22.

The accused, Anil, was produced by the officers of Tihar Jail, Delhi, by an order of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Delhi, who had issued the directive on the basis of production warrant from this court.

On the prayer of Patna police, the CJM (in-charge) Sarvjeet passed an order to handover the accused to them for five days for custodial interrogation.

It is to be noted that On May 22 last the loot was committed in the residence of Ms Sadhna Srivastav located under Kotwali police station and her guest Suresh Kumar Mahto was thrown from eighth floor of a multi-storied building, when offered resistance. Mr Mahto had died on the spot in the incident.
