6 sentenced to life for severing youth's genitals

Muzaffarnagar, Aug 10 (UNI) A court today sentenced to life six persons accused of cutting off the private organ of a youth here.

According to the prosecution, on August 13, 1999, accompanied by his five aides, Mehboob had severed the genitals of Rafat Salim over a dispute in Budhana area.

Later, a case was registered against Mehboob, Sayyed, Raees, Nawab, Naushad and Rafeek.

On the basis of substantial evidence and testimony, Additional District Judge (VII) Chaitanya Kumar Kulsheshtra convicted the accused, besides imposing a fine of Rs 50,000 each.
