Several Indian missions to be opened
New Delhi, Aug 9: The government today said several Indian missions will be opened abroad in 2007-08, a move that will help safeguard and promote India's strategic, economic and political interests in these regions.
The Union Cabinet approved the opening of embassies in Reykjavic, capital of Iceland, Gautemala City in Gautemala, Niamey in the state of Niger and Bamako in Mali.
Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister, Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, said the post of Consulate General of India will be created at Guangzhou in China.
