Gujjars' Mahapanchayat on Aug 12 in Bhilwara

Bhilwara, Aug 9 (UNI) Gujjars from across the country will congregate here at Sukhadia Stadium on Aug 12 for a Mahapanchayat, demanding ST status for themselves.

The Mahapanchayat held under the ageis of Akhil Bharatiya Gujjar Parishad will see at least 40,000 Gujjars gather here from all over the country.

The Mahapanchayat is likely to be addressed by Gujjar leaders Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla, MP Sachin Pilot, MLA Atar Singh Bhadana, Govind Singh Gujjar among others.

Parishad's patron Ramchandra Patil and state chief Arjun Singh said the parishad has banned Gujjars from bringing arms to the Mahapanchayat.

Parishad's president Arjun Singh Kasana has threatened the Panchayati Raj Minister Kalu Lal Gujjar of expulsion from the caste, if he fails to attend the Mahapanchayat.
