Woman among 3 Amarnath yatris dead, toll 38

Srinagar, Aug 8 (UNI) Three Amarnath pilgrims, including a woman from Chhattisgarh died at different halting stations enroute to holy cave overnight.

Officials said that a 68-year old woman Prem Lata Kansal, a resident of Raipur Chhattisgarh died at Baltal base camp due to heart failure this morning.

Two other unidentified yatris died at two different places on Pahalgam-cave shrine route.

With this, the toll since the two month long annual pilgrimage started has risen to 38.

About 2.50 lakh pilgrims have so far visited the shrine. Majority of the pilgrims have returned to their homes.
