Village with 100 per cent authorised connections

Chandigarh, Aug 8 (UNI) Dharampura village of district Kaithal is the first village of Haryana where 100 per cent of the households have now authorised domestic connections.

The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has recently completed the power supply through High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) in the village.

Giving details, a spokesman said here today that the Nigam had installed nine new transformers of 25 KVA capacity by replacing the 100 KVA capacity transformer.

After completion of the HVDS, 150 new domestic connections had been released by the Nigam in open darbars and by constant persuasion in Dharampura.

Earlier, Shergarh village of the Kaithal district had the distinction of becoming the first HVDS village of the state.

He said the Nigam had completed the HVDS or Low Voltage Distribution System (LVDS) works in Bhanpura and Deodkheri villages.

After erection of the new system in these villages, as many as 130 and 90 applicants had applied for new domestic connections respectively. Not only this, the consumers were being persuaded for having proper connections through Ex-servicemen League and other voluntary organizations, he added.
