New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) Upset over the Left parties' rejection of the 123 agreement on the Indo-US nuclear deal, the UPA has convened a meeting this evening with them to allay their apprehensions ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament beginning on Friday.

The meeting, called at short notice, comes in the wake of the Left parties' stand that they are unable to accept the 123 agreement.

After a coordination committee meeting yesterday, CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat and CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan asked the government not to operationalise the nuclear deal.

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other UPA leaders and office-bearers of the Left would attend the meeting to be held at 2000 hrs at the Maurya Sheraton hotel here.

The opposition BJP has also raised objections over the draft of the 123 agreement.
