Two arrested in Andaman with 1060 bottles of illicit liquor
Port Blair, Aug 8 (UNI) The Andaman and Nicobar Police have arrested two bootleggers and recovered 1060 bottles of illicit liquor which were kept in tubes of truck tyres.
The vehicle used for transporting the illicit liquor has also been seized. The seizure was made by the police team patrolling in South Andaman area, superintendent of police Ashok Chand said today.
The team noticing the suspicious movement of an ambassador car coming from Calicut Junction stopped the vehicle and on checking it was found that it contained 11 tubes of truck tyres filled with illicit liquor which was approximately around 1060 bottles. The bootleggers- S Mani and R Raj Kumar, both resident of Port Blair, were arrested and the car was seized. A case under Excise Regulation Act has been registered, Mr Chand added.
